WIN: Laugh out loud with triple comedy line-up at local cinemas

There are six 2D tickets and six 3D tickets up for grabs

ESCAPE the worries of the world with three new comedies and a spooky thriller at Nu Metro cinemas in KZN this long weekend. The Boss Baby: Family Business, Kaalgat Karel, Queenpins and The Night House.

Nu Metro is starting the weekend early at The Pavilion and Ballito Junction with select shows from 16:00 on Thursday, September 23. From Friday to Sunday, there will be movie shows daily, from morning until after sunset at all of its cinemas.

Under lockdown level 2, cinemas can now present their popular evening shows again. From October 1, during the school holidays, Nu Metro’s cinemas will be open seven days a week.

Here are this week’s new movie releases at Nu Metro in KZN:

The Boss Baby: Family Business (PG V) [Showing at Nu Metro The Pavilion, Cornubia Mall, Galleria Mall and Ballito Junction]

Playtime is over. There’s a boss baby on the block and she’s on a mission to uncover dark secrets about her big sister’s school. You and your family will love the new animated comedy. The sequel to the original box office smash will inspire families with its positive message, while delivering the comedy and humour we have come to expect from the Boss Baby universe.

Kaalgat Karel (13 LNS) [Showing at Nu Metro The Pavilion, Galleria Mall and Ballito Junction]

The hilarious, home-grown romantic comedy, Kaalgat Karel [Afrikaans with English subtitles] starts showing at Nu Metro this weekend. It tells the story of Karel Venter, a 30-year-old man who falls head-over-heels for the paramedic, Rita, who saves him after a naked streak gone wrong. There’s a problem: she’s a strait-laced, single mom who has no interest in his streaking shenanigans. Starring Francois Jacobs, Christia Visser, Schalk Bezuidenhout and Siv Ngesi.

The Night House (16 DHV) [Showing at Nu Metro The Pavilion, Galleria Mall and Ballito Junction]

Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is left alone in a lakeside home he built for her. She tries as best she can to keep it together, but then nightmares come. Disturbing visions of a presence in the house calling to her, beckoning her with a ghostly allure in the horror-thriller The Night House. What she finds are secrets both strange and disturbing – a mystery she’s determined to unravel.

Queenpins (16 L) [Showing at Nu Metro The Pavilion only]

Couponing goes criminal in Queenpins, the real-life comedy about a pink-collar crime duo (Kristen Bell, Kirbey Howell-Baptise) that bamboozles millions in a counterfeit coupon caper. The local supermarket’s loss prevention officer joins forces with a US postal inspector in hot pursuit of these newly-minted Queenpins.

James Bond 007 (Daniel Craig) is back with No Time To Die. He has left active service but gets no rest with a dangerous, new villain on the loose. Tickets are now available to experience all of the action, adventure and super-agent thrills you love from October 1.

Nu Metro cinemas are open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and on public holidays – with all the required Covid-19 protocols in place, to keep you safe. For cinema line-ups, showtimes or movie info visit https://numetro.co.za or call 0861 246 362.
