“Our parents knew each other but we only met at the event and from then we have inseparable. I was 16 at that time,” said Lesley.

The decision to get married at a young age was for them to be able to grow with their children. They were blessed with three sons.

“As a family, we have been involved in lot of sport, toured the country and we are very much involved with motorbikes. Being able to do things together has kept us strong and till this day, we all have that special bond and unity,” said Wilf.

The Norcotts dated for four years and tied the knot at the Frere Presbyterian Church in Durban.

“We have been involved with the foundation for the past 14 years. The organisation also give us a will to carry on.”

Wilf said he was involved with picking up donations and dropping it off at the RHF’s depot.

“It fulfills us to be able to help where we can at this age and doing things to assist others,” he said.

Lesley also does a lot of knitting, “I share the items I make with the foundation and the Doone Village residents where we reside,” she said.

In the afternoons, the couple keep themselves occupied by playing a game of scrabble.
