Fabulous reads – Book fails to take root

Book review - A Little Book of Tree Wisdom by Fiona Budd.

A Little Book of Tree Wisdom Fiona Budd, Wisdom Books ISBN: 9780 6209 20445

POCKET-SIZED and packed with a hearty punch for some, Fiona Budd has collected and compiled a host of words of wisdom during her morning walks to the smallest Jacaranda tree in her suburb.

The book opens up with a brief account of how Budd found her tree, the journey she has since taken and has now shared with the world. Many of the pages are adorned with beautiful, sometimes eerie and, at other times, simplistic, pencil sketches of trees.

ALSO READ: Fabulous reads – Explore Renosterveld’s rich diversity

While the book can be read in just a few short minutes, it’s messages are meant to be savoured and mulled upon.

While some may find this quirky and possibly interesting, it just wasn’t my cup of tea and I found no impact in the words or phrases provided.
