Westville Theatre stages musical showstopper

The talented cast have an excellent evening of entertainment lined up.

TICKETS are now available for the small musical production, Yesterday Once More, from 14 to 16 May, 21 to 23 May and 28 to 29 May at the Westville Theatre Club, adjacent to the Westville Swimming Pool.

The narrator, Jason Maxwell, is an aspiring actor who dreams of going to Hollywood. He performs in local plays and productions, all arranged by his manager and best friend, Olivia. Olivia is always there but the audience will soon question if she is highly invested in his career, or if there is more to it.

One day, the protagonist receives a call from a casting director that changes everything. Difficult decisions need to be made, all for the sake of pursuing his dreams. Will he make the right choices and was it everything he thought it would be? Follow Jason’s journey and re-live your yesterday once more with a nostalgic assortment of music from the 1950s to the early 2000s.

With the cast from Test the Waters and a live band, guests can expect to jive along to great harmonies and songs from The Carpenters, Roxette, Elton John, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Simple Plan, Michael Buble and more.

Doors to the venue open at 7pm andthe show will begin at 7.30 pm. On Sunday, 16 and Sunday, 23 May, which are matinees only, the doors will open at 2pm and curtains will go up at 2.30 pm. Take along your own picnic basket and drinks.

The cost is R100 per person and R80 for members, scholars and pensioners. To ensure the safety of patrons, seating for only 40 patrons will be made available.
