Jaguar unveils limited-run F-Type Reims Edition but not for Mzansi

The Reims Edition is based on the P300 and P450 models and only 150 units will be made available.

As a manner of paying homage to the maiden victory of the Jaguar D-Type in the 12 Hours of Reims in 1954, Jaguar in the UK has unveiled the F-Type Reims Edition that is exclusively available for the UK market.

The Reims Edition is based on the P300 and P450 models and only 150 units will be made available.

Exclusive to the coupe, the F-Type Reims Edition comes wearing a French Racing Blue body as well as the Exterior Black Pack.

As its name suggests, parts such as grille surround, side vents, logo and leaper badge are finished in gloss black. It rides on gloss black 20-inch wheels that feature five split spokes.

The interior is bolstered with Ebony black leather and like the outside, the Black Pack has been applied. The door switches, door handles and instrument cluster trim are finished in gloss black.

Jaguar has fitted the Reims Edition with the Climate Pack that has two-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, and a heated windshield. A fixed panoramic roof is standard, too.

The P300 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 221 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque. According to the British marque, the P300 can hurdle from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds before hitting the limiter at 250 km/h.

The P450 lurks a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 with 331 kW and 550 Nm of torque. All that amount of grunt enables the coupe to hurtle from a stop to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and tops out at 285 km/h.
