Jam along to local blues stars

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the international performers will appear in a video production that will be aired during each of the three shows.

PREPARE for chilled vibes at the Durban International Blues Festival 2020, which will be held at Roland Stansell’s Rhumbelow Theatre in Umbilo from Friday, 4 to Sunday, 6 December.

Th event’s programme director, Will Wallace, has created a line-up that includes local bands Rorke Kemp, Sea Level (featuring Lance Goldberg), Bobby and the Dynamites and Smoke Train. The Reals are the backing band for The Blues Summit on the Sunday.

The Friday show will start at 7.15pm and includes performances by Sea Level (featuring Lance Goldman) and the Rorke Kemp Band. Saturday’s performance also starts at 7.15pm and includes Bobby and the Dynamites and Smoke Train. Sunday’s show will kick off at 1.45pm, with performances by Barry Thomson and The Real and Blue Summit, backed by The Reals.

All of the local artists will perform live while the international artists, Liz Mandeville (USA), Toronzo Cannon (USA), Fiona Boyes (Aus), Pat Savage (Canada), Charlie Love (USA), Donna Herula (USA), Yamil Jacobo (Argentina)and Khalif Wailin’ Walters (USA, will participate in a video production that will be screened during the show.

Patrons can take along their own picnic baskets. A merchandise table will also be available.

Tickets are available for R140 to R160 per person and can be booked directly through Roland via email at roland@stansell.co.za or call 082 499 8636. Alternatively, book your tickets through Computicket. All tickets must be pre booked. No walk-ins will be permitted.
