#Covid19Lockdown: Rhumbelow brings shows to your home

The Rhumbelow Theatre will be streaming some of their most popular shows on YouTube.

THE Rhumbelow Theatre is test-driving a temporary concept to assist them to keep the theatre open and keep the finances ticking over (as they do have monthly fixed costs) and hopefully assist performers, artists and musicians who will not have any other source of income.

The theatre will be test-driving links to YouTube. (Not in the public domain, you need to have the link)

Rhumbelow’s Roland Stansell said they have loaded shows that appeared at the Rhumbelow during the last 10 or so years and urge supporters to reach out if there is a show that grabs their attention, to feel free to click on the link and watch the show.

“The Rhumbelow asks supporters to make an appropriate donation for the show watched so that we can also share any income with the relevant performer,” he said.

When donating, The Rhumbelow asks supporters to mention on the banking reference the show watched so they know who to share the revenue with.

The Coronavirus pandemic has put the entertaintment industry under pressure and Stansell ensures theatre-goers they aim to support their artists during this tough time.

“We are not intending and can not monetize any of these shows as they will mostly have copyright issues as they are Tribute shows. The non-copyright stuff is a different issue, however. We are asking people who watch the shows to make an appropriate donation so that we can distribute accordingly. We want to keep the Rhumbelow afloat and also to assist with performers putting bread and butter on their tables. Sadly, I think the tools being used to manage the Coronavirus are going to be around for the next six months. I do think that our President is making the right decisions and certainly ahead of the game compared to some other countries,” said Stansell.
