Baker puts two SA Supersport titles in the bag

Come watch Pinetown's 2019 South African National Supersport 600cc Champion, Blaze Baker, in action at Dezzi Raceway on Saturday.

Pinetown’s Blaze Baker won the 2019 South African National Supersport 600cc Championship on his Yamaha R6 at the last race for the season, held at Redstar Raceway in Mpumalanga, on Saturday 26 October.

Blaze made it two in a row after winning the 2018 Supersport 600cc title and joins the ranks of many South Africans, and even world talented, superbike champions produced from KZN –  Kork Ballington, Jon Eckerold, Russell Wood, Rodney Gray, the Bristol brothers and Rory Nesbitt among others.
However, Blaze is the first KZN competitor to win the SA Supersport title since Hudson Kennaugh won it in 2004.

Blaze says he would like to thank all his sponsors who have helped him over the years to get to this back-to-back championship milestone, “Without them it would not have happened so a big thankyou to all my supporters and followers,” said the champ.

Blaze will be taking part in the KZN Road Racing Club’s season finale at Dezzi Race tomorrow,  9 November, where he will be riding against local talent and the programme also includes different car and motorcycle classes in action.
