Boy Meets Hamster is Birdie Milano’s debut novel and it is fast becoming a recognised favourite in the LGBT and YA reader circles. Milano’s writing is smooth and age appropriate, which makes for easy and fun reading. Due to content, I would recommended it for readers above 14 years old. Set in the UK, the British humour is rife and the situations are as hilarious as they are embarrassing.

It is a quirky and quick read for anyone looking for a rom-com for young adults.

With diverse characters and a strong underlying current of acceptance, Boy Meets Hamster is a sweet and endearing book celebrating diversity, first love, family and friendship.
