The book, Shadow of the Marula Tree, will be sold on the day for a reduced price of R100 per copy.

HILLCREST resident, Tess Jackson, will launch her book, Shadow of the Marula Tree, on Saturday, 15 June from 11am at the Meadow Tea Garden, opposite Kirtlington Park, in Inanda Road.

The book follows the story of conservationist, Kay Anderson, who left Durban as a broken woman.

Betrayed by her fiance, she trains to become the first female ranger to join a safari lodge. The lodge manager, Edward Blake, is horrified to discover his new ranger is a woman and, through sheer hard work and determination, she proves her worth.

Their lives are put in danger when they suspect a traitor is working in their midst as they struggle to expose the culprit.
