HEADLINING The Playhouse Company’s wow factor entertainment roster this December are the triumphant month-long return of South Africa’s iconic stage satire, Woza Albert! – and, spectacularly, The Playhouse Festive Weekend, comprising Ignite, Lindelani Mkhize’s magnificent infusion of fresh young talent, followed by a special Christmas Celebration Concert featuring a glittering line-up of celebrity artists.

The Magic Drum, a delectable new family show, is sure to entice the young and young at heart!

 

Woza Albert 

6-30 Dec | The Loft & Drama

One of South Africa’s greatest protest theatre pieces will be showcased from 6 to 30 December. Woza Albert is a two-hander with the original cast and theatre greats Mbongeni Ngema and Percy Mtwa, is theatre at its best with the actors playing different characters making use of their acting, dancing and singing skills. Tickets are: R150

The Christmas Celebration Concert

 22-23 December | The Drama

This concert features The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, The Playhouse Chorale, The Durban Salvation Army Choir as well as a talented line-up of soloists such as Hlengiwe Mhlaba and Ayanda Ntanzi. Tickets are: R120 – R150

The Magic Drum

04-15 Dec | The Grand Foyer

Children and their families are invited on a journey to a little village where a con artist, Tortoise and a magical drum control the order. The Magic Drum runs in our Grand Foyer from 6 to 15 December. Tickets are R80.

Lindelani Mkhize’s Ignite

21 Dec | The Drama

Stand by to be thrilled when musical director Lindelani Mkhize presents Ignite, a two-hour red-carpet entertainment biggie featuring new-blood stars, complete with VIP add-ons including a lounging and dining experience in the Grand Foyer and Main Foyer.
Tickets are: R290 – R490.
