Fabulous reads – You will be clawing for more SJ Maas

Book review - Catwoman: Soulstealer (DC Icons #3) by Sarah J. Maas

Catwoman: Soulstealer (DC Icons #3), Sarah J. Maas, Penguin Random House, ISBN: 9780141386898

FROM start to finish, I was addicted to Catwoman: Soulstealer like a cat to catnip.

Selena Kyle is a nobody. She is a high schooler living in the slums of Gotham and, despite her prowess in the classroom, she still needs to find a way to put food on the table for herself and her chronically ill younger sister.

She had little choice but to join the Leopards, a powerful gang of women, to earn the cash needed to keep her and her sibling alive. Barely.

Until one evening she is caught, handcuffed and taken to the nearest precinct. It is here she will make a choice that will change her life completely.

Two years later she returns to Gotham wearing the mask of socialite, Holly Vanderhees. With this socially acceptable identity, Selina is able to infiltrate each big soirée, scoping out the top treasures ripe for the picking.

I loved everything about this Catwoman origin story. The wonderfully written Selina Kyle to the introduction of fan favourites; Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and Batwing.

The scenes Sarah J Maas constructs in each of her novels are so vivid and she has the rare talent to hook readers emotionally, right from the outset

The books is packed with action and suspense, a touch of romance, a few plot twists and a bucket load of female power.

I am holding thumbs that SJ Maas is asked to write a follow up novel! Please Sarah, can I have some more?
