Durban makes for the perfect setting when plotting out the board game Monopoly, and gives players a chance to get the title deeds for the most luxurious property for sale in the area – even though it is just a game!

Due to its various levels of residential areas, you can start from the bottom and work your way up to mansion status in no time. This wonderful city features landmarks such as the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Ushaka Marine World and The Pavilion Shopping Centre, to name just a few.

Aside from the fun and games, Carol Reynolds, Pam Golding Properties area principal for Durban Coastal, was delighted with the recognition for Durban, and believes that it is the perfect metro to use as a base for Monopoly, due to it being a world-class surfing destination.

Durban is home to some iconic addresses, such as Bowes-Lyon and Ellis Brown Roads in upper Glenwood and Eastbourne, while they have also held good value over the years. So if Monopoly inspires you to look for property in the area, you could find a real gem that would make your investment worthwhile.

If summer all year round is something that appeals to you, then Durban is your kind of place, with winters passing by barely noticed. Days spent on the beach are always a pleasure in this climate, or long walks in the botanical gardens.
