Unlock new opportunities through Open Door

The course is for those who work closely with their communities or for those wanting to improve their own life skills.

SIGN up for the Open Door Crisis Care Centre’s eight-week lay counselling course that will start on Saturday, 2 June.

This course is a must for lay counsellors, neighbourhood watch volunteers, educators and community workers who are involved with men, women and children who face challenges at home, school. It is also open to those wishing to improve their own life skills in dealing with conflict, work and social related problems. The course offers psychology students hands-on training and is recommended by lecturers in the various universities and colleges.

The course is aligned to SAQU standards and teaches participants basic counselling skills, how to deal with conflict, address social issues of rape, domestic violence and child abuse as well as training on the various Acts and Bills, including the Sexual Offences Act, Domestic Violence Bill, the Children’s Act and the Trafficking in Persons Act. More than 5 000 men and women have undergone a life-changing experience through this course.
