Share spirit of gemütlichkeit at German Fest

Enjoy delicious traditional German treats at this popular annual event.

THE German Fest is at H, 1 Church Road Hillcrest, on Saturday, 26 May, where traditional German food is served from 10am – 4pm in the church gardens and hall.

There will be succulent Eisbein, gammon or crispy and tender chicken schnitzel for lunch to pair with a variety of delicious salads made by the women of the congregation.

You will be able to buy those delectable German meat specialities such as Mettwurst, Kassler, smoked Bratwurst, smoked Käsegriller, Frankfurters, Thüringer Bratwurst and Schinken will be on sale as well as venison pies, pork ribs, biltong, cabanossi, smoked Viennas, bacon sausages, cheese griller and pork shanks.

Enjoy delicious homemade cakes and filter coffee in the Kaffeestube.

Irresistible homemade Butterkuchen and bread will be on sale as well as Kartoffelpuffer (potato fritters) and Rollmops.

An exciting Wheel of Fortune will entertain children and adults and fantastic prizes can be won. Children’s entertainment includes a jumping castle and games.

There will also be a variety of plants on sale.

A brass band will strike up some jolly music to entertain fest-goers.
