#MatricResults2017: Thomas More celebrates 100 per cent pass rate

The class of 2017 achieved remarkable results in the 2017 IEB examinations.

THOMAS More College’s 110 Grade 12s achieved remarkable results in the 2017 IEB examinations. With their 100 per cent pass rate, 96 per cent of those obtained a Bachelor Degree pass, an average of over two distinctions per candidate and an aggregate average of 70.8 per cent.

The school also had 16 learners achieving in the top 1 per cent in 10 subjects. Jemma Daniel (IEB Outstanding Achievement list, 94 per cent, 7 distinctions), Parusha Raidoo (IEB Commendable Achievement list, 93 per cent, 8 distinctions), Nicholas Leisegang (IEB Commendable Achievement List, 92.1 per cent, 9 distinctions), Kirsten Elliott (8 distinctions) and Tiffany Miller (7 distinctions) led the charge with 20 learners achieving A aggregates and 39 achieving B aggregates.

“While we celebrate these phenomenal, individual achievements, and rightly so, every single one of our children is to be acknowledged and celebrated. We are enthused about providing an inspired education in which every individual matters most,” said Dave Wiggett, high school headmaster at Thomas More.
