Nibs van der Spuy returns to rock Durban

Westville’s Nibs van der Spuy is one of the most extraordinary and exciting world acoustic guitarists.

He grew up listening to The Beatles and learnt first-hand from the traditional Zulu Maskandi guitarists and has formulated a truly consummate and original sound and has released more than 10 albums.

In September 2016 Nibs released his new solo album, Natalia, produced by world renowned producer Mark Tucker (Portishead, PJ Harvey, Jethro Tull).

Nibs is touring KZN, this time with Amber Rubarth. Amber is an American singer-songwriter, composer, and actor. She has toured extensively throughout Europe, the US, Japan, and South Africa headlining and as the support act for many artists.

“She is a special kind and one of my newly found favourite, singer/songwriters. That is not to mention that she is a fabulous guitar and piano player,”said Nibs.

“On this outing, we are going to try different things, brand new songs and some cool collaborations.”
