Book number forty-four is here! Yes, you read that correctly.

Nora Roberts has continued to entertain fans for many, many years (circa 1995 to be exact) under her pen name for her popular crime fighting genre.

Eve and Rourke are back in Echoes in Death and if you are an avid fan then you know exactly what you’re getting. There is a little mystery, a bit of gore and of course a few steamy scenes.

The formula hasn’t changed and in this case, it is alright by me. Each novel can be read as a stand-alone but be warned, once you’ve picked up one of them you are going to be hooked – so welcome to JD Robb fan club.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her millionaire IT mogul husband, Rourke, are on the hunt for the devil. A woman is found wandering the streets of New York traumatised, naked and mumbling about a red masked intruder.

A serial housebreaker and torturer has upped his game to murder. This is a slightly disturbing take on the darker side of human nature and Eve, along with her grouchy yet quirky deputy and husband, follow the killer’s trail. I would consider this a safe and familiar read from JD Robb.

It is funny, witty with a mostly guessable ending but it is written with a timeless formula and I am looking forward to the next installment.
