Get revived at music concert in Kloof

All the compositions draw inspiration from the East, the exotic underworld and reflections of the magical world that surrounds us.

CONCERT pianist, Christopher Duigan will present a recital of French music by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Jean-Phillippe Rameau at St Agnes Church in Kloof at 7.30pm on Thursday, 20 April.

All the compositions draw inspiration from the East, the exotic underworld and reflections of the magical world that surrounds us.

From the baroque harpsichord school of the 17th century, as represented by Rameau, to the wonderfully evocative, richly hued and sensuous music of Ravel and Debussy, this programme includes the popular Clair de lune, Satie’s Gymnopedie and Ravel’s quixotic foray into Spanish music Alborada del gracioso.

Duigan also makes a brief excursion into contemporary French piano music which adds an evocative touch to the programme.

Tickets are R100 each including refreshments. Book at St Agnes church office at 031 764 2037.
