Buckle up for the return of Fast & Furious
Become immersed in the movie at Nu Metro's 4DX or Xtreme cinemas.
GEAR up as Fast & Furious 8 is due to hit Nu Metro’s screens later today.
These special pre-release screenings will take place from 5.15pm today, with the official release tomorrow, Friday, 14 April.
Fast & Furious 8, also known as Fate of the 8, will be showing in Nu Metro’s fully immersive Xtreme (Ballito Junction) and 4DX (Pavilion Shopping Centre) cinemas from today.
Highway Mail raced to the pre-screening at Nu Metro’s multi-sensory 4DX cinema. The specialised cinema is set to make viewers feel as if they are part of the action on-screen as the seats will move, you will smell the wheels spin on the tar, along with all the other awesome 4DX effects such as wind, water spray, fog and lightning.
4DX is possibly the best and only way you should experience this movie. You will become completely engrossed in the action scenes as you swerve with the cars, feel the bumps and crashes, are sprayed with water as cars skid along the ice and a few of the scents as tyres burn and explosions erupt. There is also a reason it was one of the highest grossing films during the long weekend. It is simply gorgeous to watch – and still holds true to the franchise with quips of humour dotted throughout and some of the most intense action scenes I have ever seen.
In Fast 8, the original team reunites but a ferocious Charlize Theron and Dame Helen Mirren also join the crew to get a cut of the action this time round. Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon, Brian and Mia have retired from the game – and the rest of the crew has been exonerated – the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. A mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of crime and he can’t seem to escape. He betrays those closest to him and the team will face trials that will test them as never before.
Expect lots of high-octane stunts, furious racing and all the other over-the-top action scenes, which movie fans have come to expect from this blockbusting series of adventure spectacles.
