SPLASHY Fen was named one of the top five events in the world to attend in April this year by the global credit card brand, American Express.
Alongside heavyweight global events such as Kings Day in Amsterdam, the Sydney Comedy Festival in Australia, Baisakhi in India and the Toronto Food and Drink Festival in Canada, this accolade is seen as a reward for the encouraging turnaround that the festival received since the Splashy Fen Revival last year.
American Express Essentials hosts a popular website that presents a selection of the most original travel and lifestyle trends from around the world.
“We are thrilled to be associated with these world-class events,” said the festival’s director, Stu Berry.
“But more than that, we are proud of what we have achieved in such a short space of time. We most certainly will not stop here. Our aim is to make each festival bigger and better than the one before; bringing more of the music fans love, more of the entertainment they crave and more of the joy that comes from being out in the beautiful Drakensberg with family and friends.”
In addition, the article asked readers which of the five events made them want to drop everything and pack their bags and 89 per cent of readers voted for Splashy Fen.
The 2017 Splashy Fen Music Festival is set to wow fans this Easter from 13 to 16 of April, with more than 200 local and international artists, more than 50 food and craft stalls, morning yoga sessions, trail runs, live art and more.
