Raise your glass for charity fund-raiser

The funds raised from the concert will go to Umduduzi, a paediatric palliative care unit in KZN.

Andrew Macleod and Ryan Ponquett will open up their beautiful Hillcrest home again to host a fund-raiser in support of Umduduzi – Hospice Care for Children Organisation on Friday, 24 March. Umduduzi, the only specialist paediatric palliative care organisation in KZN, provides a place for children who are terminally ill or who have a life threatening diseases to live and die with dignity.

The organisation also supports their families through these difficult times.

The theme for the fund-raiser is Half a World Away and the MC for the evening is Dave Macleod and performers will include Platform Jazz.

Platform Jazz, a six-piece band, entertains with a range of music styles from swing and Latin to a bit of South African Jazz.

The band consists of Cathy Peacock on trumpet, Kirsten Sayers on clarinet, Duncan Wooldridge on trombone, Jeff Judge on alto sax, Andreas Kappen on double bass, Bruce Baker on drums and Melvin Peters on the piano.

Shelley McLean is the gorgeous velvet-voiced vocalist.

Tickets are R1000 per person and includes a tailor made gourmet picnic basket. Wine will be available for purchase at the event.

The concert will start at 6.30pm.
