Annual music festival breaks boundaries

More than 100 local acts and DJs will take to one of the three stages at this year's Fun in the Sun party extravaganza.

SET to be the party of the year, thousands of party goers will make their way to this year’s annual Fun in the Sun outdoor music festival at Hazelmere Dam on Saturday, 1 October from 6am.

There will be more than 100 artists across three stages and will include international DJ, Mike Williams. Get your camping gear, tent or caravan, sleeping bags, sunscreen, cozies and sunnies ready for a full day of fun with music, food, clothing stalls and water sports.

Be entertained by non-stop music from international headliner, Mike Williams from Netherlands and South African acts and DJ’s such as Timo ODV, Chunda Munki, Zinc, Chris Taylor, Mat OD (Digital Kaos), Max Hurrell, Hendrik Joerges, Mogey, Msizi James, Bhashkar, Tim Lewis, Ryan James, Jazzy Jay and Ty Stoltz.

Mike Williams is labelled as one of Holland’s youngest DJ talents and has become an international sensation at only 19 and recently signed with Spinnin’ Records and MusicAllStars Management. He has shared the stage with DJs Martin Garrix, Jay Hardway, Yellow Claw and Alvaro and has also produced his own tracks.

In 2015 he performed at a variety of festivals and launched a successful bootleg of Carly Rae Jepsen’s I Really Like You, which gained more than 3 million SoundCloud plays. Mike is also known for his catchy debut release, Sweet and Sour.

To add to the fun, catch adrenaline filled activities, from boat riding, wet biking, wake boarding, tubing, skiing, as well as chilled activities such as camping, braaing, fishing and of course, partying all day long. There will also be a food court, ATMs, clothing stalls, a medical tent as well as a security tent to ensure the festival is a top class, safe experience.

Early bird tickets cost R250 and R300 after 24 September for general access and R600 for VIP.

Those with VIP status will have access to unlimited drinks, a private lounge and bar, private toilets and security as well as camping space and access to the festival. No camping gear will be provided. Tickets can be purchased at www.fitsfest.co.za or Computicket and are not for sale to persons under the age of 18.
