LOOKING for something to do this Valentine’s Day?

Look no further. The Highway Mail has compiled a list of things that are happening right here in the Highway area.

HILLCREST Corner will be screening the classic ‘rom-com’, Leap Year, on Friday, 12 and Saturday, 13 February. The movie will be showcased under the stars on the top level parking deck at 7pm.

Movie-goers are encouraged to take along blankets, chairs and picnic baskets and make themselves comfortable. Classic movie snacks and other delicious dining options will also be on offer from a variety of vendors. There will also be a supervised Kids’ Corner and other family activities and entertainment on offer.

An entrance fee will be charged at R30 per adult and R15 for children 12 years old and under. So, if you’re looking to do something different this Valentine’s weekend, go along and enjoy an evening under the stars at Hillcrest Corner.

JOIN the Kloof and Highway SPCA for its Valentines Picnic in the Park with the musical talent of Andrea Giglio as Elvis, joined by the lovely Belinda Dolphin, on Sunday, 14 February from 1pm to 4pm. Entrance is R50.

Take your own picnic basket and eats to Marilyn’s Tea Garden, 29 Village Road in Kloof. Refreshments will be on sale. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Tickets are on sale at the Kloof and Highway SPCA reception, Marilyn’s Tea Garden and the Kloof and Highway SPCA Thrift Shop at the Maytime Centre.

ENJOY the international romantic melodies of Durban singer/songwriter/balladeer, Rene Tshiakanyi, at a free daytime performance in the food court in Watercrest Shopping Mall on Sunday, 14 February from 11am to 1pm, and in the evening he will be performing for diners at Spice Palace Restaurant in Lillian Ngoyi / Windermere Road in Durban.

FOR a non-cheesy Valentine’s, guaranteed free of polystyrene red hearts, white flurry bears and sweet red bubbly, go along to 031 Bar and Restaurant in Station Drive in Durban on Sunday, 14 February.
