Woman dies in horror crash
A woman died after she went into cardiac arrest when the vehicle she was in was involved in a head-on collision on Monday.
ONE person died and three others sustained serious injures in a head-on collision on Monday on the M25 under the N2 Bridge on the Natal north coast.
Netcare 911 paramedics, their rescue unit and the fire department arrived to discover some of the injured still trapped in the twisted frames of the vehicles. Medics clambered into the wreckage to stabilise the injured while the rescue officer used the Jaws of Life to free them. After medics triaged the injured it was found that two people sustained life-threatening injuries while two others were seriously injured. One of the critically wounded, a woman in her sixties went into cardiac arrest. The team worked fervently to resuscitate the patient but she tragically died, despite their efforts.
The injured were transported to hospital.
