OVER the past few months, Hirsch branches have been collecting toys, sweets and clothes for the Reach Out With Love project, boxing and wrapping them in readiness for the big handover.
Christmas Eve was the day earmarked to take the gifts to the project, and with great excitement, PROs Stephanie Niemandt from the Umhlanga Rocks branch, and Taryn Taylor from the Hillcrest branch accompanied Margaret Hirsch and set off to take a helping of happiness to 400 little boys and girls during this festive season.
Reach Out With Love is based in Pietermaritzburg and it was established to help children, particularly child-headed families who are victims of the HIV AIDS pandemic.
Melanie du Plessis, founding director of Reach out with Love accompanied the Hirsch team: “It’s a very special occasion for the children to receive treats like this and Hirsch’s assistance and support makes it even more special.”
