Musical pelude to open up art exhibit

The exciting collaborative art exhibition will open with a prelude performance by Count Filip Kormuth.

AN exciting collaborative exhibition of art at the Longmynd Gallery in Hillcrest on 4 November will open with a prelude performance by Count Filip Kormuth.

Kormouth, a local concert pianist, composer and pedagogue, who recently wowed upper highway audiences with his performance in a collaborative recital with Soprano Annalie Herbst-van Rooyen and choirs of three local schools at the concert for the Neema Foundation at the Kloof Baptist Church.

The exhibition will feature six well known artists, Sue Whitmore, Hilary Grant-Currie, Margie Currie, Michelle Offerman, Janine Holloway, and Lara Melon.

With different styles and subject matter, the group embraced the theme “Free to be…”, allowing each artist to explore their individual interpretation of freedom in life, in nature, in being. The artworks range from oil paintings to charcoal sketches, ink prints to mixed media.

The exhibition promises to be an exciting mix of work that allows the viewer to travel down their own road of interpretation.
