Dancing due come third in World Champs

"It was a hugely successful event for South Africa and we are very proud to have brought home excellent results in such a prestigious event"

FABULOUS dancing duo, Kevin Ellis and Sara de Koning, represented South Africa in the world championships in Blackpool, England, which took place in August.

Ellis came first in his solo section, De Koning came third in her solo section and together they came third in the duo section. “It was a hugely successful event for South Africa and we are very proud to have brought home excellent results in such a prestigious event,” said de Koning.

In August, before going to the world championships, Ellis said after he wins he plans to visit Paris, where he can have a photo taken of him on the famous chair in Moulin Rouge (where he was once a dancer), he wants to climb the Eiffel Tower, have tea at the Louvre Museum, take a pic with Mona Lisa and a a boat cruise down the River Seine.

Ellis’ favourite dance style is the duet, which him and his partner call, ‘Latched’. He said the night before the SA champs, they rehearsed lifts which pushed him to such a high level, and his outfit was completely African-themed, which represented the country and Nelson Mandela.

De Koning is back home and Ellis is still travelling Europe.
