Countdown to food and wine fair begins

Support Knowles Superspar and Rotary Club of Pinetown’s Food and Wine fair.

THE funds raised at this year’s Knowles SuperSPAR and Rotary Club of Pinetown’s Food and Wine Fair will once again assist various community-based organisations to continue with the noble work they carry out in their communities.

All the funds received from this event will be reinvested into more than 50 community projects run by the Rotary Club of Pinetown, spending in excess of R500 000 each year.

Some of their major ongoing projects under the watchful eye of Rotary Pinetown are Doone Village, Pinehaven, funding for IT education and an electronic referencing library at schools in Pinetown and KwaNdengezi. Other projects involve early childhood education outreach programmes for pre-school children, the funding for literacy programmes, the establishment of a school reference library in KwaNdengezi (which now incorporates a careers learning centre to help prepare the pupils for meaningful employment in the workplace) as well as sports and social development projects such as The Brazil Soccer Academy.

The Management of Knowles SuperSPAR expressed appreciation to all the suppliers who generously sponsored food or wine for the upcoming event. The Food and Wine Fair will be held on 21 August and this year will be hosted in the Knowles SuperSPAR marquee.

For further information on Rotary Pinetown projects, contact Bill Draper on homebill@mweb.co.za. Tickets for the Food and Wine Fair are available at R80 each from Knowles SuperSPAR.
