Duigan’s plays most loved melodies

Catch pianist, Christopher Duigan's, classical voice through Pianology at St Agnes Church in Kloof on Thursday 30 April at 7.30pm.

CATCH pianist, Christopher Duigan, in Pianology, a series of concerts at St Agnes Church, the first on Thursday 30 April at 7.30pm.

In a superb choice of piano favourites, Duigan brings together a wide range of popular and classical piano music at a junction where popular and classical music meet. Featuring some of many of the worlds most-loved melodies, the programme offers something for everyone.

Duigan gleans from his vast and varied repertoire, classical compositions that show influence of popular music, and popular piano music written for a concert pianist. From classics rooted in folk dances (Chopin’s Mazurka and Polonaise), unashamedly popular melodies (Beethoven’s Fur Elise, Handel’s Harmonious Blacksmith and Liszt’s Liebestraume), to Spanish Romances, English Country Gardens, Dizzy Fingers, the evergreen Nola, and The Warsaw Concerto. A fascinating and entertaining mix that is not to be missed.

Tickets are R100 each and includes refreshments. Booking is through St Agnes Church on 031 764 2037.
