Splashy Fen still going strong

Bookings through Computicket.

WITH less than four months to go until Splashy Fen 2015, now would be a good time to start planning ahead for this year’s epic festival, set to take place over the Easter long weekend from 2 to 6 April.

South Africa’s longest-running annual music festival, Splashy Fen has been going strong since 1990, and every Easter sees thousands of people descending on a farm near Underberg in KwaZulu-Natal for a long weekend of live music in a spectacular mountain setting.

According to festival organiser, Pedro Carlo, visitors to this year’s event can look forward to more stages, a fresh layout, and an awesome line-up of the best in SA music, with the likes of Shortstraw, The Plastics, aKING, Beast, Taxi Violence, KAHN, Hot Water and Urban Creep among the first batch of acts to be announced.

“We’ll also be adding bag jumping, dirt boarding and a trail run to the mix, as well as an all-new comedy bill and an even wider variety of food and drink outlets, all geared towards making the Splashy experience as much fun as possible,” said Carlo.

He said for many people Splashy has become an annual tradition, and if you have never been before then it definitely deserves a spot at the top of your ‘must-do’ list this year. The festival is also an opportunity to meet new people and make friends, and the fellowship shared based on a love of music makes for the ideal atmosphere in which to do so.

Tickets are currently on sale at Computicket at R625 each which includes camping for the entire four-night, five-day festival.
