Irish violinist to lead orchestra concert

Don't miss the opportunity to hear an exceptional artist in another of his collaborations with Baroque 2000 this Sunday.

ONE of the most exciting and versatile Irish violinists of today, and former director of Baroque 2000, London based Darragh Morgan returns to South Africa to lead the orchestra’s concert at the Church of the Monastery, Mariannhill at 3pm on Sunday 21 September.

Darragh Morgan, who appears around the world as soloist and chamber musician, and has made numerous broadcasts and CDs, will perform Bach’s violin concerto in A minor, and direct the ensemble in the rest of the programme.

This is made up of Bach’s Sinfonia from Cantata no 42, Luigi Boccherini’s Procession of the Military Night Watch in Madrid from one of his op 6 Concerto Grossi , Torelli’s trumpet concerto in D (soloist Michel Schneuwly), and Pietro Castrucci’s- Concerto Grosso No XII, Op 3.

This is a opportunity to hear an exceptional artist in another of his collaborations with Baroque 2000.

Ticket are R120 at the door, and there is ample free and safe parking.
