SUPPORT the benefit concert for Glen Turrell at Live the Venue in Stamfordhill Road this Thursday 18 September at 7pm.

Glen Turrell was the sound engineer at the Heritage Theatre, responsible for the engineering of beautiful sounds you heard at shows. As an outstanding technician, he was also willing to help with any technical problems experienced. Musicians are in the hands of sound engineers and it was comforting to know that Glen was always there for them.

Since the closure of the Heritage Theatre, he has been without work and is badly in need of a back operation. Barry Thomson with his band ‘The Reals’ and many other local Durban bands and artists have gathered to help raise funds for Glen. Calli Thomson will be playing with Danny Fisher’s band.

Other artists include Colin Peddie’s band ‘Rise’, Andy Turrell and John Ellis, Sebastian Goldswain, Martin Sigamoney and The Geejays. Toms Music Shop has sponsored some items including a bass guitar which will be auctioned on the evening. Wild and Marr have also donated microphones and headphones to be auctioned.

Alec Mackay has donated an absolutely gorgeous guitar worth R15 000 for a raffle to help raise funds for Glen. Hand made by Alec, his guitars go under the name of Alver. This one is top spec as set up for Eric Johnson actual specs will be available at the concert. Tickets for the guitar raffle are R50 each.
