Police confirm R270 000 robbery at Pavilion Mall

Two men were involved in the robbery and no arrests have been made.

NEW reports indicate that a man was robbed of R270 000 while he was on his way to make a deposit at one of the banks in the centre.

According to Stephen Clark, the media spokesman for the Westville SAPS, there were two men involved in the robbery. One of them was allegedly armed a handgun.

“The investigation is ongoing and the men have not been caught,” said Clark. He noted that the investigating officer had viewed the CCTV footage.

According to a source at Pavilion, who did not wish to be named, retail stores do not carry R300 000 cash at their premises.
