THE department of community safety and liaison together with the Hillcrest station commander, as well as the cluster board chairperson have extended the final deadline for the formation of community police sub forums in the Hillcrest policing district to 15 November.
The election of the executive committee will take place on 27 November at 6pm at the Hillcrest Library. Only chairmen are eligible to stand for election of office bearers.
The criteria for establishing of a sub forum is a proper election by the community in the area with presence of a member of the SAPS.
Known outstanding urban areas are: Waterfall 1 and 3, Winston Park, Summerveld, Gillitts/ Everton, Hillcrest residential, Forest Hills, West Riding and Shongweni.
Residents can liaise with Crime Prevention, VISPOL head, on 031765 9124 for the availability of the sector commander or a representative from SAPS.
