Big splash for Kearsney’s Luca

The record-breaker made a clean sweep at the national championships.

KEARSNEY College’s Grade 8 learner and talented swimmer, Luca Sandri won all eight age group races when he competed in the recent regional leg of the SA Junior National Gala at Kings Park.

The races included the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 100m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley.

In February this year he also broke the KZN U13 50m freestyle record when he competed in the Invitational Grand Prix Gala.
