Ironman strives for 2021 hat trick

Jody Taylor, achieved the fastest combined results from the 2019 Dusi Canoe Marathon, 2019 Comrades Marathon and the recent 2020 Midmar Mile.

THE regional sport coordinator, Jody Taylor, achieved the fastest combined results from the 2019 Dusi Canoe Marathon, 2019 Comrades Marathon and the recent 2020 Midmar Mile.

This is Taylor’s second consecutive title.

“This year was a lot more stressful and tougher as my results were not as good as 2019’s. I am definitely going to use this as a peg in the ground as I am determined to make it a Pope Ellis Ironman hat trick in 2021, starting with the 2020 Dusi Canoe Marathon,”  said the 2020 Pope Ellis Ironman.

When Taylor is not fighting the waters or pounding the road he manages and mentors the IIE’s Varsity College KwaZulu-Natal campus’ sports bursary students and grows the sports clubs on an elite athlete level as well as on a social level.
