Durban, lace up and walk for your kidneys

Over and above the fun walk, there is also a host of other activities to take part in.

SUPPORT World Kidney Day at uShaka Marine World on Saturday, 30 March by participating in one of its many awareness activities, including a 3km fun walk, from 8am until 11am.

Activities on the day also include aerobics, blood pressure and glucose testing, kidney function screening, nutrition education and a blood drive. The walk will start at Arena 5 and end at Arena 1 at uShaka Marine World.

Entrance to the walk is free.World Kidney Day takes place on Sunday, 14 March and is a global awareness campaign aimed at raising awareness of the importance of kidneys. All across the globe, hundreds of healthy lifestyle events are due to take place to highlight this and why we need to live healthy lives to take care of them.

Acute kidney injury (AKI), an important driver of chronic kidney diseases, affects more than 13 million people worldwide and 85 per cent of these cases are found in low and middle-income countries.

Join the movement, support World Kidney Day and take care of your heath. Participants are encouraged to wear a white or red top.
