Kearsney snaps up another basketball victory

The local school claimed a big win for basketball but narrowly missed the top spots in the tennis tournament and the independent school's gala.

Swimming

Kearsney’s A-team swam at the annual Independent Schools Gala, hosted by Hilton College, during the week. The gala was a close tussle between Hilton and Kearsney from beginning to end, with Michaelhouse and St Charles bringing up the rear. Clifton withdrew from the gala due to weather concerns.

The final outcome was not clear cut as Kearsney and Hilton won most of the races and the points tally differed by only one point at one stage.

Hilton’s consistency in the U14, U17 and open age groups proved the difference between the two teams, where they won 12 of 15 races. Kearsney’s U15s and U16s won all of their races, and the open age group came second in every one of theirs.

Final results: Hilton 83, Kearsney 74, Michaelhouse 54, St Charles 51
