Athletes get into gear at annual race

The race takes place on the last Sunday of January and is a popular race on the running calendar for the past 43 years.

THE annual Pinetown and District Athletic Club’s (PDAC) 25km race was started by 1 455 runners and walkers on Sunday, 27, January from Waterfall.

The race takes place on the last Sunday of January and is a popular race on the running calendar for the past 43 years.

PDAC chairman, Lise Muchna, thanked the PDAC members for volunteering their time and energy on Sunday morning.

“Without all the help we get from the members, we would not be able to host this event. Feedback from finishers have been very positive and thankful to PDAC for such a well organised event.”
Muchna added that the race would also not be possible without the help of their sponsors.

“The PDAC 25km has not had a major name sponsor for several years now, however, thanks to the generosity of various smaller sponsorships, the race continues to be a great success,” she said.
