Step up for Durban diabetes challenge

The Wellness Expo has no entry fee and there are a host of exhibitors that include pharmaceutical, health, fitness and nutrition companies.

SIGN up for the upcoming 5km fun run/walk on Sunday, 11 November at the Durban Wellness Festival, an event which highlights the serious condition of diabetes.

The Durban Wellness Festival, supported by SASA, Lily and Clover Tropika Slenda, as well as the Protea Hotel by Marriott – Durban Edward, has been formulated to educate and encourage people to make positive changes before it is too late.

One of the aims of the 5km run/walk is to encourage regular exercise, which helps keep blood sugar levels stable, reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases and also improves general well-being.

The Wellness Expo provides the opportunity for the public to have their blood pressure, blood sugar, eyes and feet tested on the day.

All proceeds generated from the 5km fun run/walk will be donated to Diabetes SA Durban, a self-funding organisation.

The race will start at the Durban Amphitheatre at the Bay of Plenty.

Registration will begin at 7am, will kick off at 8am and the cut-off time is at 10am. Entry is R60 per person.

The Wellness Expo is free. Contact Pat Bonini on 031 201 2169 during office hours or e-mail, mw.nerve@mweb.co.za.
