Help Corbyn soar into fund-raising challenge

Corbyn Marais needs your help to jet off to London to compete in the world championships of obstacle course racing.

HILLCREST’s Corbyn Marais has been competing in obstacle course racing for the past year and recently qualified to take part in the world championships.

This past weekend Corbyn, or Bean as he is affectionately known, competed in the first South African OCR championships. Despite only being 15 years old, he placed third in the U19 age group. This gave him a ranking of third in South Africa and first in the U16 category.

Corbyn’s dream is to represent his country and to ultimately one day be a professional athlete.

The world championships are to be held in London in October and coincides with his 16th birthday.

“We are appealing to corporates and to private individuals to please help us get Bean to London to compete in the U17 events,” said his loving mom, Bronwyn.

You can follow Corbyn’s Facebook page, Corbyn Marais (athlete), to keep posted on his fund-raising progress and at events.

“If you can help in any way. Any small donations or are able to help with any fundraising, hampers for raffles, no amount is too small,” said Bronwyn.
