Get your dose of adrenaline

Dress up and get ready to test your mettle at the Obstacle Wars lumo fund-raiser event on 9 June.

JUMP head first into the lumo obstacle night race fund-raiser at the fourth Obstacle Wars event on Saturday, 9 June from 5pm on Vian Road in Winston Park.

The 2km course is packed with 21 obstacles and caters for children to elites.

Funds raised on the evening will be donated to local charity, Nation Changers.

The local race company focuses on obstacle course racing for children and adults as a medium for team building, confidence boosting and fitness driven fun.

“The sport is a mixture of trail running and obstacle challenges and with the outdoor, mud-slinging and dirt-in-your face factor, people from all walks of life and fitness levels are jumping in feet first.

“Gone are the days of boring treadmills and stationary bikes to get you fit. People need and want more excitement, adventure and bragging rights and this is where the sport of obstacle course racing has filled a gap,” said Clive Edwards of Obstacle Wars.

The Team at Obstacle Wars have elite racing status and will be representing SA at the world champs in October.

The knowledge and experience of the team make them a formidable force in a training/coaching environment and this is offered at the facility where the races are currently held.

“Nation Changers is a local charity organisation doing so many good things in the community and they need all the assistance they can get,” said Clive.

To make a donation to Nation Changers, visit its website at nationchangers.co. Tickets for the race cost R50 per child or R100 per adult.
