WBHS 1st squash team are KZN champs

The Westville 1st team for squash are set to take part in the SA Top Schools’ tournament this year.

WESTVILLE Boys’ High School’s 1st squash team are set to take part in the SA Top Schools’ tournament this year after winning the KZN Inter-Schools Squash Tournament this weekend.

Effectively this ranks the team as the Number One school in squash in Kwazulu-Natal.

Westville went into the tournament unbeaten and took the first match against Kearsney 15-7. Glenwood was next on the fixture list, and again Westville took the match 14-3.

Sunday saw the next round of fixtures, with the first match against Michaelhouse. This was a tough one, but Westville won the fixture 3-2 in matches and 10-9 in games + 5(bonus points).

Despite the fatigue of the mental and physical challenge against Michaelhouse, Westville took the last match against College 3-2 in matches and 10-11 in games + 5(bonus points). So, 15-11 in games Vs College.

Overall points: WBHS (70), Michealhouse (63), College (51), Glenwood (30), Kearsney (26).

WBHS 1st team for squash comprises Luke Clark, Michael Archibald, Vaishanth Chami, Priyal Vanmari and Robert Moody.
