Westville celebrates another win against Northwood
The second half consisted largely of many unforced errors.
WESTVILLE Boys’ High School made it two-for-two this weekend, with a 22-13 win against a determined and tenacious Northwood team.
WBHS were first to register points on the board with a try with Stanley Gianni playing in the unfamiliar position of flyhalf, latching onto a stray pass from Northwood and hacking the ball forward a few times before a kind bounce allowed Gianni to collect and score.

Dylan Labuschagne converted to give Westville an early 7-0 lead.
Northwood responded shortly after with a penalty (7-3). A powerful Westville maul was to be Westville’s next weapon of attack as it resulted in a try for tight head prop Dean Shrader (12-3).
Northwood started to really hit their straps and their period of dominance was rewarded with a try after moving the ball down the line beautifully.
The kick was unconverted, and this was to be Northwood’s final impact on the score board for the 1st half (12-8).
Westville though had one more special play in them before the end of the half. Fullback Nqubeko Mkwanazi broke the line before putting in a well-placed kick for Winger Josh Porter to dot down for an unconverted try.
The teams went to half time with the score board reading, Westville 17 – Northwood 8.
The second half consisted of a try from each team. Northwood scored first after a beautiful passage of play from deep in their own half (17-13).

Westville responded right at the death of the game with a try from hard-working forwards player of the day Andrew Lotz.
The second half consisted largely of many unforced errors. Impressively though, both defenses looked very determined not to concede tries.
The final whistle sounded with the score reading 22-13 in Westville’s favour.
