Hillcrest High School boasts swimming success

Hillcrest High School performed well in the first co-educational friendly gala of the season hosted at St. Henry's recently.

ONE of Hillcrest High School’s senior learners, Brett Manning, qualified for the SSA senior open water championships 10km event over the weekend at the Gauteng Aquatics Open Water Championships.

It was a tough swim and Brett qualified in an impressive time of 2:27.40.

He was interviewed by the TV crew and though he is a humble young man who shies away from his photograph being taken, his school family can’t help but show how proud they are.

Brett will be going on to the championships in Jeffreys Bay in March and the school wishes him all the best.

His teacher, Maddy Burger, in sharing the proud moment with his mother, said, “Well done to Brett. Thank you for sharing the photos, we promise not to tell him.”
