Scratch your running itch with Chiltern AC

Participants can join at anytime during the 10-week programme.

GET fit and into shape for summer with the Chiltern Athletic Club’s 17th annual Scratch Club, a free initiative for the community. More than 150 runners took part in last year’s Scratch Club and the club hopes to encourage a similar number to become involved this year.

“The basic concept is that we offer people of all ages, shapes and sizes who are itching to run, or walk, an opportunity to get fit through our 10-week fun, safe and gradual training programme irrespective of fitness levels,” said the club’s Paul Brink.

The Scratch Club is held at the Chiltern Athletic Club, intersection of Fyfe and Methven Road, every Tuesday and Thursday at  5.45pm.  The programme will run until 2 November.

The Scratch Club launch is on Tuesday, 29 August at 5.30pm with an introduction that will include road safety issues. “Runners are welcome to join the Scratch Club at any time should they miss the launch,” said Paul.
