Westville boys lose ‘mud bath’ rugby match

WBHS narrowly lost the first XV rugby clash 6-3, as well as the first XI hockey 2-1.

DESPITE the inclement weather at the weekend, a dampener was certainly not placed on Westville Boys’ High School’s results against Hilton.

WBHS won 14 out of the 19 rugby fixtures, but narrowly lost the first XV clash 6-3 in a match that was best described as a mud-bath.

The U16A and U15A enjoyed convincing wins, romping home 33-15 and 29-10 respectively.

The U14 age group continued to dominate, having only lost one fixture this entire season. The 14A beat Hilton 22-6.

On the astro-turf, Westville won nine out of the 14 hockey fixtures, scoring a remarkable 32 goals and only conceding 11.

The A-teams all had solid wins, with only the first XI narrowly losing in a tightly-contested match, 2-1.

WBHS’s 1st team squash beat Glenwood 12-1, and the third and fourth teams beat their Highway rivals Kearsney, 12-5 and 12-0 respectively.
