Hillary BC chosen for district trials

President of the bowling club, Mark Ramsden, said that while they have had players selected for the district teams, they had never before been recognised publicly.

HILLARY Bowling Club were selected from approximately 28 other clubs in the district to be part of the Port Natal Bowls trials.

“We will attend approximately six practices and from there, 32 men and 24 women are chosen – 8 for A team, 8 for B team, 8 for senior and 8 for the bowling club’s president side. These teams then compete nationally at inter-district tournaments, each team playing at a different province for example the men’s A team played in Johannesburg and the B team played in PE in 2016,” explained Hillary BC’s president, Mark Ramsden.

He said while they have had players selected for the district teams, they had never before been recognised publicly. “Also, the fact that our club has less than 60 members, the fact that 6 have been selected for 2017, is indeed an honour for our club,” he added.
