Hillcrest High wins girls soccer tournament

The tournament was hosted by Pinetown Girls' High School and 20 schools participated.

THE KZN Football Association U19 Girls’ Soccer Tournament was hosted by Pinetown Girls’ High School on Saturday, 20 August.

Twenty teams participated in the knockout competition. The atmosphere was electric with all teams playing exceptionally well in poor weather.

Terry Poolingam (organiser of the event) said the tournament was played in a spirit of great camaraderie and fair play.

“Congratulations to the winners of the tournament – Hillcrest High School and the runners-up, Kloof High School,” said Poolingam.

Pinetown Girls’ thanked all the sponsors who made the tournament a success; Powerglide Oils, Sportsman’s Warehouse – Pavilion, Clicks – Watercrest, Ace Auto Salvage, Suzuki Motors, Pinetown, Virgin Active – Kloof.

Poolingam also expressed a heartfelt thanks to all the pupils, parents, staff, coaches and managers of the respective schools who were in attendance on the day.
